This is a 2 hour orientation for individuals interested in instructing at Everett Scrambling Field Trips. It’s a great way to sharpen and maintain your skills, to help others, and to give back to the club. Participation in the Field Trip Instructor Orientation is required to qualify as a new instructor. But all instructors are welcome to attend, whether to refresh on field trip logistics, instructing policies, or to share your experience / expertise with new instructors. Attendance is limited to 25. In the event of more than 25 signups, new qualifying instructors will be given highest priority. Topics include: > 2012 Field Trip logistics and day itineraries for instructors > Expectations of instructors > Filling out Student Booklets > Roles of Field Trip leaders, lead instructors, and assistant instructors > Fundamentals of how to teach and demonstrate skills > Responding to emergencies, unexpected events, and challenging participants.
