But there were personal reasons for the climb as well. In the spring of 1990 - when the US, China, and Soviet Union were Cold War enemies and real war seemed imminent -  I organized and led the Mount Everest International Peace Climb. Everett Branch Youth Programs Kick Off With Smiles

Over the past four years, Mountaineers youth programs have grown at an extraordinary rate, all thanks to the commitment and investment of our volunteers and donors.
