Spring has sprung and so has the growing season at local farms throughout the region. We are fortunate to live in a region with a rich and varied food network, including cultivated crops, foraged foods, and community food co-ops. However, the COVID-19 outbreak has impacted food producers and consumers alike. Food producers find themselves without a market to sell their goods. Certain communities face food insecurity.

We Are Puget Sound is a book and campaign that has been building collective solutions for a healthy Salish Sea for people, wildlife and the environment. Join us in a discussion how COVID 19 is impacting on food security for many communities including immigrants and how farmers, fishers, shellfish growers are coping with getting products to restaurants and to people if there is no demand. What is happening to address this disparity or what is needed?
