Join us for Mountaineers Books’ next live web event, January 25th, “Discover California’s Best Backcountry  Ski Tours,” featuring pro-skier and backcountry expert Jeremy Benson, author of the new Backcountry Ski & Snowboard Routes: California. Benson is Tahoe-based, and his insider intel is sure to get you stoked to find new powder lines.

From Mount Shasta to Mount Whitney, Benson will give you exceptional route recommendations in any neck of the woods. Benson’s new guide is written with intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders in mind, detailing the best slopes the Sierra has to offer.

Trips range from quick daytime escapes to challenging overnight expeditions. In addition to giving readers detailed insight on when and where to get the best turns and freshest tracks, it also includes driving directions to the trailhead and resources for avalanche information, weather and road conditions, relevant land management information, snow reports, and safety advice.

This event is being put on in collaboration with Tahoe Backcountry Alliance.

Jeremy Benson is a sponsored ski athlete who brings his big mountain and backcountry expertise, enthusiasm, and experience to writing his guidebooks. He is a Truckee local and has written for magazines such as Powder, Skiing, Mountain, and Tahoe Quarterly, and has contributed to TetonGravity.com. In addition to writing, Benson has been a long-time ski tester for Skiing Magazine. During the snow-free season, Benson is an avid mountain biker, and has written a Tahoe guidebook for cyclists, Mountain Bike Tahoe: 50 Select Singletrack Routes.
