Wanted: Stories of Your Walks in the Wild

In 2017 we launched a new adventure presentation series to celebrate the extraordinary trekking and backpacking adventures by Mountaineers members in the wilds of the world, and our two presentations have been extremely well received! We know that there are more wild-walkers among us, and we invite you to bring your stories to us for inclusion in the series!

In 2017 the Seattle and Foothills branch hiking committees jointly launched a new adventure presentation series to celebrate the extraordinary trekking and backpacking adventures by Mountaineers members in the wilds of the world! We know that there are more wild-walkers among us, and we invite you to bring your stories to us for inclusion in the series.

So far, Mountaineers Steven Yi and Daniel Zilcsak have shared their wonderful photos and stories about their backpacking adventures in Torres del Paine National Park, Patagonia, and along the John Muir Trail, and these talks have been very well attended, with lots of folks interested in learning how to plan a similar trip in the future.

THINK YOU HAVE A STORY LIKE THIS?

Have high quality photos or video to tell the tale? Ready to add the maps and descriptive detail and logistics ‘how-tos’ to help others plan their own life-list trip?

Then we’d love to have you share your story at one of our Walking the Wild events! Complete the application form with a short excerpt of your presentation materials, and your adventure may well be on its way to becoming someone else’s dream experience!  We're particularly seeking someone to present at our session on April 25 at the Seattle Program Center, but please send in your application even if you can't make that date and we'll plan from there!
