Celebrating Peak Society Donors at Benaroya Hall

December is a wonderful time of the year, not only for the spirit of generosity  but also for festive celebrations. In an attempt to merge the two, we once again hosted a Peak Society reception to celebrate our top Mountaineers donors—those who give over $1,000 per year—in conjunction with the ever-popular Banff Mountain Film Festival, all hosted at the elegant Benaroya Hall. Which volunteer has made an impact in your life?

Whether you hike, ski, climb, or paddle, we’d be willing to bet your life has been positively impacted by a Mountaineers volunteer. Your Gift this #GivingTuesday Supports Scholarships at The Mountaineers

He’s a snowshoe and scrambling trip leader, intermediate climbing student, Everett climbing committee member, Kitsap scrambling committee member, and Seattle hiking committee member. He’s also a Mountaineers scholarship recipient.  Read more…

Last month we kicked off an Impact Giving series to talk about the many ways charitable donations expand our mission. We will publish a new story each month to share how philanthropy expands Mountaineers programs and empowers us to keep doing what we do best: get more people outside, expand the tradition of volunteer-led outdoor education, cultivate stewards of our public lands, and publish books to inspire adventure, exploration, and conservation. 51 Years of The Mountaineers Foundation

It is a sad moment in the history of The Mountaineers. With a heavy heart, we learned that the foundation we created more than 50 years ago has filed a lawsuit against The Mountaineers. We want to explain the events that led to this and share our plan to defend our beloved organization and the wishes of our donors. Read more…
