Stretch & Reach Islands

Stretch and Reach are a pair of islands located in upper Case Inlet. Stretch Island State Park occupies the northeast tip of Stretch Island and offers a convenient break or lunch stop (no toilets).

Launch Points

Launch access is from either Fair Harbor Marina (toilets on opposite side of State Route 3) or Allyn Waterfront Park (year-around toilets). On a low tide, launching and landing at Allyn Waterfront Park should be from the floating dock. The mud flats can be hazardous due to soft ground.

Often the islands are circumnavigated in a figure eight. The passage between Stretch Island and the mainland dries at low tides, requires about a three foot tide level. Additional exploration can be made, especially at high tides into inlets along the Mason County shore both north and south of the islands.
