Pinnacle Saddle

A short, 3.5 mi hike with 1,150 ft of elevation gain in the Tatoosh range just south of Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park. Enjoy view of Mount Rainier to the north.

on the trail

Trail starts at the Reflection Lakes parking area, across the road from the lake on the south/uphill side.  Trail gains 1150' feet in 1.5 mi so is fairly steep.  The last part takes the hiker across the scree slope at the base of Pinnacle Peak.  The official trail ends at the ridge top just west of Pinnacle Peak.

Trail is best hiked in August or later as the scree slope below Pinnacle is on a north aspect and several potentially dangerous snowfields linger well into summer.
