Mildred Point

A strenuous snowshoe trip of 9 miles and 3200 feet of gain, leading to a promontory in Mount Rainier National Park. Enjoy beautiful views of Kautz Creek Canyon and the south side of Rainier.

Snowshoe route

From Longmire, head up to Rampart Ridge and run the ridge up to Mildred Point. 


  • Winter drivers in the park are required to have snow chains, and may be required to install them at Longmire.
  • When conditions are favorable, a shorter trip with less elevation gain (~4 miles round trip and ~2,300 feet of elevation gain), is possible via Comet Falls from the trailhead near Christine Falls.
