Middle Tiger Mountain

A 7.4 mile and 1,200 foot elevation gain round trip day hike to the "middle" of Tiger Mountain State Forest.

getting there

Drive to the trailhead for the Northwest Timber Trail and Iverson Railroad Trail just off of SR 18, about 3 miles from I-5, Exit 25.

on the trail

Hike east on the Iverson Railroad Trail.  Turn right (north) onto the Tiger Mountain Trail and follow it to the spur trail to the summit of Middle Tiger Mountain.

As a variation, near the summit, take the left fork onto the Middle Tiger Trail, then turn right onto the Hobart-Middle Tiger Railroad Grade. In 1.6 miles take the way trail steeply back up to the Tiger Mountain Trail and turn right to head back to the intersection with the Middle Tiger Trail. This option adds ~4 miles to your trip.

Retrace your steps back to the trailhead  or head north from Middle Tiger and head east and then south on Road 4000 to return to the trailhead and make this a loop trip.
