Ragged Ridge via Easy Pass

There's nothing easy about Easy Pass. This is a long, hard scramble on Ragged Ridge in the North Cascades. You'll experience solitude and great views while scrambling

getting there

Drive SR-20 to the Easy Pass trailhead between Mileposts 151 and 152 (3,700 ft). There is room for about ten cars, and bathroom facilities are available.

Approach & Ascent

Mesahchie Peak (8,795 ft) & Katsuk Peak (8,426 ft)

20 miles round trip with 8,420 feet of elevation gain
difficulty: strenuous 5, technical 5

Hike over Easy Pass and descend towards Fisher Camp at 5,100 feet. Head up to a high camp at 6,700 feet on Mesahchie Peak's south shoulder. Ascend northwest up slopes to gain the saddle between Mesahchie and Katsuk Peaks.  Climb to each of the summits from this saddle.

Kitling Peak/South Gully (8,008 ft)

10 miles round trip with 5,000 feet of elevation gain
difficulty: strenuous 5, technical 4

Take the trail to Easy Pass. Once at the pass ascend NW to the ridge and follow to the base of Kitling summit block. Traverse past the SE Ridge and find a broad gully which should lead to the top. If time available  possible additional summits of New Morning Peak & Honeymoon Hump possible
