on the trail

The hike and off-trail up Juniper Gulch to the top of Yellow Jacket Peak is very scenic and fun.  Watch for wildlife - wild horses and bighorn sheep.   Follow a winding creek bed for one mile.  Volcanic tuff rock walls along trail.  Admire interesting catacomb rock formations and side canyons.  This is a photographer's paradise.  Swiss-cheese-like formations.  At one mile, the canyon starts to open up into sagebrush hills to the high ridge and Yellow Jacket for views of entire Leslie Gulch area.
