Exit 38/Far Side Drytooling Crags

There is top rope access via fixed lines. All routes are set up to be top roped if you don't wish to lead. Rock shoes and tools are super fun. Mountain boots with monopoint crampons are advised, and sometimes add or reduce difficulty over shoes. Dual point/mountaineering crampons can be used at Excellent Adventure Wall since the holds are so big, but the other walls it is actually a hindrance and should be avoided.

The maximum party size is for use by course field trips only, and includes both students and instructors. Group size maximums do not reflect how course field trips are run (in smaller groups of students and instructors), but allow for course leaders to register the course in our system.
  • This route allows multiple bookings. Please check scheduled trips listed below in the "Activities" tab to see if there is another group already booked on the same day. If so, please coordinate with them to ensure you are carpooling and teaching at different areas.
  • If you are scheduling a course field trip, please contact our Member Services Team to confirm the field trip and any permitting regulations.
  • The Mountaineers has a commercial use permit with Washington State Parks for all free and fee-based outings at state parks. Leaders should carry a print or digital copy of our  commercial use permit to show rangers they may encounter.
