Buck Mountain

Snowshoe 11.5 miles and 2,600 feet of elevation gain to the lookout on the summit northeast of Loup Loup Pass on the eastern side of the North Cascades. Enjoy views into Canada, the Columbia Basin and the North Cascades. Look for interesting animal tracks along the way.

getting there

Drive SR-20 to 15 miles east of Twisp, xx miles east of Loup Loup Pass and turn north onto Buck Mountain Road (3,500 ft).

snowshoe route

Climb northeast up through mixed open forests, generally following the existing road, avoiding any ski tracks we may find, and going cross country as conditions allow.
