Pickering Passage
A passage in South Puget Sound that separates Mason County from Hartstene and Squaxin Islands. Extending 8.5 nm north to south, it offers many opportunities to explore in a sea kayak. It is notable for flowing north on the ebb and south on a flood, providing current-assisted trips for the careful planner. It can be accessed from Arcadia, Latimer Landing, and Fair Harbor, and inlets to visit include Jarrell Cove State Park, McLean, and Pirate Coves at the northern end.
