Bare Mountain

A strenuous, 8 mile round trip day hike with 3,250 feet of elevation gain. The trail ascends an old miners trail through forests to a fire lookout with views of distant Glacier Peak.

getting there

Take Exit 31 off of I-90, drive on Main Street through North Bend, and turn left (north) onto Ballaratt Street. Follow it as it becomes North Fork Road Southeast, an four miles from North Bend, take the left fork, and continue 17 miles where it crosses Lennox Creek and becomes Forest Road 57. Drive 3.2 miles to the trailhead (2,100 ft).
