  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 11.7 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 4,120 ft
  • Pace: 2.5 mph and 1500 feet and hour on trail. 700 feet an hour on snowshoes

We will meet at the Lake serene TH at 7.30 AM on Saturday.

Gear: Snowshoes, microspikes and crampons will be required  (if you dont have required gear, email me before signing up)

Conditioning: While leaders permission is not required, please self evaluate for conditioning. For reference Base of Mount Si haystack in less than 2 hours in the last 2 months

Trip style: Different leaders lead trips in different ways. In this trip, we'll move at a consistent pace (as highlighted in the trip posting), with short breaks (1-2 mins) every 45 mins to an hour. We will take a 5-10 min break at the summit, if the views are good. We will not have a long lunch break (especially in winter).

The idea behind the efficient trip is to
a) allow for us to avoid return traffic on highway 2
b) allow for additional time in case of emergencies on the way down

As always in winter scrambles summit may or may not be the destination. This route is new for the leader, please come prepared to come help with navigation and trail break as needed

If you want to discuss more about the trip plan - email me directly.
