A beautiful and strenuous loop near Mutton Mountain.

Starting from Camp Sheppard off of Highway 410, proceed north to the Snoquera Pallisades trail.  Follow this trail all the way to Little Ranger Peak.  From there continue to follow the ridge/trail pass Noble Knob, and descend via the Mutton Mtn trail.  This full loop is 16 miles, 5500' gain.  There is an option to shorten it at Little Ranger peak, shaving off 4 miles and some elevation.  Expect a long day in any case (Many thanks to Tom Girard for this route summary).
