An interesting counter-clockwise traverse with recent forest fire remnants providing unique photo opportunities.  After departing from the Ranger Creek trailhead we will travel SSE on snow covered trail to reach the Deep Creek Trail (our ascent route for Mutton Mountain).  From Mutton Mountain we will backtrack a bit before following the ridge in a northerly direction to reach Noble Knob.  After another bit of backtracking we fill finish up by traversing the ridge to reach the Ranger Creek Trail junction (our descent route to the cars).  Photos from a prior trip to Noble Knob via the Ranger Creek Trail can be seen here.
