Winter Scramble - Mount McLoughlin

Lets climb a volcano in Oregon for Christmas and make a road trip out of the drive! Best one day of the three days over Christmas weekend!

  • Pace: 1500 feet on trail and 1000 feet on snow an hour

We will meet and decide the best weather day, a day before the trip! 

While requesting leaders permission, please let me know of your

  1. Winter scrambling skills (especially crampons and snowshoes) 
  2. Plan to drive to Medford in Oregon
  3. Recent winter scrambles you've done 
  4. Will you be driving or wanting to carpool
  5. Are you vaccinated?
  6. Are you ready to have fun?

Outside of this trip (completely optional and outside of the mountaineers activity), there will be some fun side adventures, which may include 
1.  Day hike to a hot springs either on the way in or out (Umpqua or something along the way)
2. A stop at Eugene or Bend
