7:00am, Tibbets Park & Ride (across the street from Issaquah Transit Center parking garage; exit 15 off I-90)
In addition to scrambling, we will be looking for & recording animal tracks of threatened / endangered species, supporting efforts of Conservation NW. Leader is certified in animal track & sign identification, and will share animal tracking tips. If tracks of target species are seen, we will stop a few minutes each to record & photograph them – this is a higher priority than the summit, but is not expected to preclude reaching the summit.
Mileage is listed as 11 mi. If we can park at Gold Creek like typically done for this peak, the mileage will be 9 mi. (In winter, parking requires a Sno-Park pass. If the state has not announced that they have ceased requiring Sno-Park passes, we will either need a pass within our party, or need to park near the Hyak exit, which would add 2 mi of roadwalking and increase the trip mileage to 11 mi.)
