- Sno-park permits are required at the TH. Bring one if you can. We will stop and buy $5 day permits at the Pass if needed.
- Snowshoes with agressive points on the bottom such as MSR.
- Avalanche Becon - not needed this weekend as of Jan 15 there is very low danger.
- Avalanche shovel and/or probe. We should have 4 of each for the group.
- No crampons are needed.

We will take the direct approach up from the TH through the trees. Richard and Lynn went this way last year. Here are their notes:

Started at the end of the frontage road paralleling I-90 to the east, south of the Hyak exit. Made sure the turn around wasn’t blocked. Shared the road with snowmobiles till just past where the road crosses Rocky Run and before encountering cabins, then headed upslope. At ~4,100’ curled right around a rib to avoid steeper terrain between 4,200’ – 4,400’. Traversed below the false summit and around to approach the true summit of Mt. Margaret from the NW ridge.
