Winter Scramble - Mount Ellinor

This is a very steep approximately six mile snow scramble up the chute of the winter route with potentially glissading down. Preference will be given to Olympia basic climbing and scrambling students. We'll start at the lower trailhead.

We will meet at Haggans in Olympia on Cooper Point Road and be ready to leave at 6:30, parking on the north side of the parking lot near Pier Imports.   We will also stop at Hoodsport at the grocery and bathrooms at approximately 7;15.  Due to limited parking at the trailhead, carpooling should be used.   Haggans is at 1313 Cooper Point Road. 

 

Glissading will likely be part of our return down.  Also going up, it will be very steep and possibly icy.
