The intended goal is Chumstick Mountain(6810 on USGS Chumstick)about 8 miles north of Cashmere. We'll approach by way of Eagle Creek. A route on TOPO gives 3,800' of gain in ~ 10 miles, based on starting at where the Van Creek road leaves the Eagle Creek road. Chumstick has substantial local prominence and correspondingly potential for extensive views. We will, however, need to do 2 to 4 miles of road walking. Here's a link to a NWHikers report, approaching from another direction; http://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7974456&highlight;=chumstick Let's presume the trip will take place on Saturday 3/26 unless the weather is definitively better for Sunday 3/27.
