Winter Scramble - Cowlitz Gap & Rocks (winter)

A moderate winter scramble with great views of Mount Rainier.

  • High Point Elevation: 7,425 ft

8:30am at Longmire so we're ready to go up when the gates open at 9am. We can consolidate vehicles here.

Ice axe and crampons are required to gain the final 200 feet to the top of the rocks. We will use snowshoes the rest of the time.

Team members need to be in good shape so we make good time and beat the Longmire gate closure.

Park entrance fee and chains are required inside your vehicle to enter the park
