  • Winter Scramble
  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)
  • Mileage: 10.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 4,600 ft

8:30 at Paradise

This is a strenuous trip, due not only to 4,600' of gain in 4 miles (8 miles RT), but that the oxygen level drops to about half of that at sea-level by the time you get to Camp Muir, so please be prepared for what you sign up for. Leader: Frank Jesseph, alpinescrambler@gmail.com (email is best contact method). P.S. Crampons, Yaktrax, etc. may be taken and used in addition to snowshoes - use your own preferred method of foot travel on snow. But bring snowshoes and NO SKIS, please.
