(This Arthur Peak trip is a bad weather alternate for the Sourdough trip listed below) A very beautiful and strenuous (~5500' over ~11 miles) winter scramble with sweeping views of the North Cascades in all directions. For fully vaccinated folks only. A recent history of winter scrambles with at least ~5000' of elevation gain is required.

Just to be clear, the goal of this trip is Point 6308 on the ridge NW of Sourdough Mountain. The crux of this trip is the narrowing in this ridge at 5500’ (shown here looking down, the person in yellow is negotiating the crux, with a separate close by hazard a substantial cornice, note the track used to avoid it):
Owing to the substantial elevation gain we should all expect to take part in the arduous task of breaking trail. A recent history of winter scrambles with at least 5000' elevation gain is required. Photos from past trips can be seen here.
