This trip is currently listed as the Upper Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie, but there's a decent chance we may change plans to a different class II river. The intention is to do a trip that's friendly to recent graduates of the whitewater course.
As with all river trips, this trip is contingent upon the river flow running at a reasonably safe and fun level, and the destination will be finalized (or the trip cancelled if need be) as the trip date approaches.
The Upper Middle Fork is an extremely scenic stretch of river, with several good class II rapids in the first half of the float. The rapids are not much more difficult than the Club Stretch we use in the course, but there are more of them. Ideally, we would see flows around 1500-2500 CFS.
For the group, I'd like to have a mix of students from the whitewater course and at least one other paddler with more experience who can help as assistant leader to support the students in the group (those folks can sign up as participants and I will promote you to assistant leader if need be). If we don't have enough experienced folks on the roster, we may have to cancel the trip.
I have registration set to open after the whitewater course has begun. If any experienced paddlers want to be added to the assistant leader roster early, before registration opens up to whitewater course students, send me an email and I can add you manually.
Unless we change destination -
We will plan to meet at 9 AM at the concrete bridge on the Middle Fork Road, just north of the Granite Creek trailhead: https://maps.app.goo.gl/RZS3vbY5iwq7Z6bY7 This will be where we take out of the river.
Then, we will leave behind shuttle vehicles and drive up to our put-in at the Middle Fork Snoqualmie trailhead: https://maps.app.goo.gl/qEPEvc5z9utDAybz9
