8 AM at the Heliotrope TH

This is an ice cragging session at the Coleman seracs open to all branches and is intended for current and former Alpine/Water Ice students or those with equivalent experience to gain climbing mileage.

Participants should have some level of ice climbing/dry tooling - leaders will share tips and tricks, but this is by no means an instructional outing.

The Mountaineers doesn't have an activity template for ice cragging - feel free to reach out if you'd like to participate but don't have the Water Ice course badge.

If the forecast calls for a high likelihood of rain, I will change venues to the Wayne's World dry tooling area around Exit 38.

Participants must have the following gear:

  • Helmet
  • Ice Tools
  • Crampons
  • Harness
  • Belay Device
