Urban Walk - Queen Anne

Starting from just in front of the Space Needle, we'll walk up around west Queen Anne, stopping by the scenic Kerry Park and returning down 5th Ave to where we started.

  • Easy/Moderate
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 300 ft
  • Pace: 1.5-2.5mph
  • Walking northwest through Kinnear Park, north to the south side of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, back south to meander through Parsons Gardens,  east through Bhy Kracke Park, finally turning south to return to our starting point.
  • Expect mostly street sidewalks and frequent road crossings. Bright visible clothing strongly suggested.
    • Safety is #1:  we will cross all roads as a group and only when safe to do so. The group will stay together at all times. Everyone is responsible for being aware of their surroundings at all times.
    • The walk will be leisurely, we will enjoy the company of our fellow walkers and sights presented to us on the walk. Please expect this hike to upwards of four hours of your day.
  • Pace will be very leisurely, I'm expecting to stop and look at sights frequently, and there will be a steep downhill going south on 5th Ave.
  • Bathrooms: Café Vita will have an open bathroom (near the start of the walk) and there are bathrooms by the International Fountain that might be open. Kinnear Park has bathrooms. We will stop as needs arise at bathrooms along the route.
  • This is my mentored urban walk.
  • Meeting place will be the Thomas Street intersection in between the Monorail station and Space Needle. It is important to input the exact coordinates into Google Maps.
  • Taking public transportation (the monorail, buses, etc.) is strongly recommended due to limited parking in the area.
  • 47.620944, -122.349714 (copy and paste directly into Google Maps).
