Thank you for joining me on my mentored urban walk.  Lori Heath will be joining us as my mentor leader.

Most of us are familiar with the outer loop (Coyote, Raven, and Trillium trails), but the interior trails offer a different perspective on this urban forest.  We will start walking at 9 am, so let's meet at 8:45 am at the main trailhead (off the 116th parking lot) to gear up / warm up. The interior trails can have more roots and be narrower than the main outside loop.

Pace:  We will enjoy a brisk ~5.5-mile walk, pacing as a group (averaging 2.5 mph), but no walker will be left behind. We will catch our breath at the top of any steep inclines.

Breaks: We will not take a long break, but will find a location 1/2 way for a 5-minute water/snack break and to check in on pace.

Trail etiquette:  Horses always have the right-of-way on trails. Please stop and let them pass. Please avoid making any loud or sudden movements that might spook the horse and endanger you, the rider, and others.

Gear:  Dress appropriately for the weather. The trails may be muddy with recent heavy rain.  Shoes/boots with a good grip and layered clothing are recommended. I walked it on Sunday (11/23), and there were some areas of mud and standing water.

We will hike rain or shine.  If a weather front comes through, we will not hike in high winds, snow, or excessive rain.

Meeting Location: Bridle Trails State Park --> Main Parking Lot off 116th
