Meet at 10 a.m. at a large gravel parking lot whose driveway is just past 14821 Avondale Road, Redmond. From the end of WA 520 east, continue on Avondale Rd. At 1.5 miles past the intersection with NE 124th/128th St, you will see the trail crossing sign with a signal light. The parking lot is on the left (west) side.
Salmon are returning to Bear Creek in Redmond. They travel from the Sound into Lake Washington, up the Sammamish River and into Bear Creek. Some branch off and go up Cottage Lake Creek as well. The Tolt Pipeline Trail crosses both of these creeks, providing easy viewing of the salmon's return. No restroom or water available on the trail. Our hike will be a flat 1.3 minimum; however, it can be extended up to 2.2 miles by climbing a short hill.
