Urban Adventure - Samish Flats

The Samish Flats is an excellent location for viewing birds associated with both land and salt water, particularly in winter. The area is the former estuary of the Samish River. It provides great opportunities to photograph birds in flight, including short-eared owls, harrier hawks and bald eagles.

We will meet Saturday March 2nd at 7 AM at the Starbucks in Marysville off of the 88th st exit and just to the east of I-5.

We will mainly concentrate on birds in flight, including short-eared owls, harrier hawks and bald eagles. Please bring a telephoto lens which will be more helpful and enjoyable for the photographer, also a tripod you have one and rubber boots as the fields are wet and cold, a hot drink, snacks and a lunch will be helpful.

We will be photographing birds into areas depending on what is flying in each area and how many birds there are.

Please contact Bruce Wolverton 425-344-2296 with any questions about this event or send me an email whichever is easier.
