  • Mileage: 1.0 mi

We will meet at the parking area for the group Campsite (just to the left past the entrance station) at 2:00 pm Sunday November 5. (Remember daylight saving time ends this day!). Discover Pass is required for parking. Depending on the weather we may meet at a different sheltered area, or head over to the campground (Additional details will be provided to participants prior to the event). We anticipate this event being finished between 6 & 7 (after dinner and dessert).

Each kid will get a chance to build a fire. This is their chance to gain experience with different fire starting materials and techniques. Parents will be supervising their children under the direction of the trip leaders.

After we get the fire started, we will go on a hiking adventure while the fire burns down into good cooking coals. Then we will explore fun campfire recipes as we prepare a delicious dinner and dessert to enjoy together.

We will have a sheltered area nearby if it is raining, so this event will take place rain or shine!

This is a family trip (all adults must be accompanied by a child, and all children must be accompanied by a mountaineer member adult)
