Urban Adventure - Big Bertha

We'll view tunnel exhibits, have a guided tour of the tunnel project, and then visit the Observatory level of Smith Tower.

Meet at 11:30 a.m. at Milepost 31 Information Center (211 First Ave. S.-between S. Main and S. Washington streets).

We'll view tunnel exhibits and Pioneer Square history/geology exhibits before beginning the one-hour tour of the tunnel project at noon. The tour is ½-mile round trip and lasts 60 minutes. It requires climbing up and down 50 stairs. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes, not sandals. The tour is free.

Afterward we will walk to the Smith Tower, and ride the elegant elevator to the second and Observatory levels. We will eat lunch at the Smith Tower. Elevator tour costs $10 for seniors. If you’d like to skip the Smith Tower, the Klondike Gold Rush Museum (319 Second Ave. S.-between S. Main and S. Jackson streets) is nearby.
