We will meet at the Red Town TH at 7:30 (ready to go by then!).
Cougar Mountain is a trail runner's paradise. We will be making a big, counter-clockwise loop starting and ending at the Red Town TH. The route starts off pretty flat for most of the first mile. Once we turn off the Wildside Trail we'll be doing some climbing (power hiking!) up to the DeLeo Wall trail. After that it's a mix of rollers, uphills and downhills. It's really a great mix and a lot of fun.
Goals:
- Build community and enjoy getting outside!
- Have fun!
TERRAIN:
The trails is virtually all well-groomed single track in a tranquil and heavily wooded area. Expect moderate elevation gain so lots of running but also a reasonable amount of power hiking.
Expectations:
- Please read and prepare to follow our participant guidelines found here: https://www.mountaineers.org/about/branches-committees/foothills-branch/committees/foothills-branch-trail-running-committee/documentation/trail-runner-responsibnility/view
- Be prepared for the conditions! Expect the fall (i.e. most likely wet) running conditions of the pacific northwest and plan accordingly. If you need help selecting gear or if you have questions, please reach out to me. Feel free to bring dry clothes to change into.
- This run will happen regardless of the weather conditions. Sunny? Awesome! Raining? Awesome! Snowing? OMG - let's go!
