Frontcountry Trail Run - Tiger Mountain Lowlands
Come join us for a last minute after work run! We'll see how far we can go (probably around 4 miles) and what we're feeling like jogging on what looks to be a warm, partly cloudy Monday.

Meeting Location: High Point trailhead in the large parking lot. Please note that the Discover pass is required here (though, if you're still waiting for yours to come in the mail, I believe you might be able to park down off the road and jog up to the parking lot).
I'll be driving a red hatchback (Chevy Sonic) with a black rack.
Departure Objective: shoes and battlefaces on, talk accomplished, and feet to trail by 7:00.
Goals:
- - Build community and enjoy getting outside
- - On the trail for 60 minutes (we won't have a distance goal, but a time. We'll cater our trail choices based on the speed folks are running at in an effort to get us back by 8:00)
- - Be safe'ish
PACE:
I'm expecting uphill paces to range between 11-13 minutes, with downhill at a minute or two less.
TERRAIN:
The Tiger Mountain Lowlands are an excellent mix of everything from a few gravel roads to single track and heavily wooded areas to a few cleared trails near the power/gas lines. Expect elevation gains varying from 500-1000 feet elevation gain depending on the distance/pace group you choose. Expect a lovely evening with at least a stop or two to check out the evening's sights.
ENVIRONMENT:
Weather is supposed to be partly sunny with a high of 75 degrees throughout the day. It appears as though the temps should have dropped to around 72. Sunset time = 9:08 pm.
Expectations:
- Please read and prepare to follow our participant guidelines found here: https://www.mountaineers.org/about/branches-committees/foothills-branch/committees/foothills-branch-trail-running-committee/documentation/trail-runner-responsibnility/view
- Be prepared for the conditions! Expect the summer (i.e. most likely hot... at least for Sam) running conditions of the pacific northwest and plan accordingly. If you need help selecting gear or if you have questions, please reach out to me. Feel free to bring dry clothes to change into.
- Know yourself and then please share that knowledge. I'd like everyone to have a fantastic time. Sharing with me your mileage, expectations, and pace helps me to find a distance/pace we'll enjoy. Also, this will serve as the pre-event note, so email me with questions!
