We will plan to do some sport climbing at the Interstate Park/Headlight Point area. Difficulty will depend on how hard the rope leaders want to climb but there are lots of options from easy to moderate here. Approach - it's about a mile and 600 feet of gain to Headlight Point. If we leave the parking lot at 4:00 we should be at the crag around 4:30, we'll climb until 8 or 8:30 or so, and be back at the cars around 8:30 or 9.
Participants - anyone who can lead sport climb is welcome to join as a participant or assistant leader. If you can lead belay and clean an anchor but not lead climb, you are welcome to join as a participant. I plan to expand the roster to 8 and with four participants but I want to make sure we have a decent ratio of lead climbers to top ropers so starting at 6.
Weather - if the forecast is bad, we will cancel or reschedule.
Gear - assistant leaders, please bring a rope, quickdraws, and anchor materials. Everyone, please bring all the usual rock climbing stuff, including assisted braking belay devices and headlamps!
Meet at the Dirty Harry's trailhead, ready to hike at 4:00 PM. Discover Pass required.
