Stewardship - Tolmie State Park

Trail Maintenance at Tolmie State Park will include crosscut saw work on some rather complex problems associated with fallen trees and upended root wads. Safe site evaluation and site work preparation are needed before work starts.

COVID-19: Learn about our most up-to-date guidance for participants and leaders on our COVID-19 Response page. All participants and leaders must agree to the COVID-19 Code of Conduct before participating in this Mountaineers activity.

We will be meeting at Tolmie State Park in the lower parking lot at 9:00 a.m.  Because the work site is unusual and the saw problems are more technical, significant time will be spent in assessing the safest and most efficient approach to saw problems.  The work site will need significant "swamping up" (clearing underbrush) before than the sawing starts.

The work will begin after a Tailgate Safety Briefing and COVID-19 Protocol review.  All parties are required to follow the CVID-19 safety protocol.

Park Ranger Joe Moses will be meeting with our work crew around the lunch hour.

Prior Crosscut Saw experience is  recommended.
