The trail is a little improved, but will likely be running water. There may be small parties coming in on different days. After this week's dusting of snow, it looks like next week will be clear at the Three Fingers Lookout. After the road opened this year we were only able to repair the damage inside the wall near the door. The lookout still needs shutters repaired, copper repaired and repair rafters carried in. If some of you have time available Tuesday through Friday next week (Oct 6 through Oct 9) I'll put together a trip and we'll make some progress on the maintenance backlog. If you are a Basic Climbing graduate, bring a harness and a few runners and biners. Ice ax, crampons will make it easier to travel, since I expect temperatures to be below freezing at the lookout each night, 50's during the day. Views should be good since we are just past the full moon and the sky is forecast to be clear. Send me an email (click link on page with listing or email to ThreeFingersLookout@verizon.net) if you might be able to help for a day or two - - the work plan will depend on the size and skills in the work crew.
