Stewardship - Lake Sammamish State Park

Stewardship day at Lake Sammamish State Park - join the Foothills Conservation Committee and Mountains to Sound Greenway in working at the Greenway”s Nursery Potting plants for the upcoming planting season

This activity will take place from 10am to 2pm.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

 

From Seattle, drive I-90 Eastbound to Exit 15 (WA 900 / 17th Ave NW). Make a left turn and another left turn at Lake Sammamish parkway.  After driving approximately 1 mile turn right into the Lake Sammamish State park.  Follow the Greenway signs to the parking area and the nursery

On the second Saturdays of every month, the Greenway Trust partners with Seattle Outdoor Adventurers (SOA) and the Foothills Chapter of the Mountaineers (the Mountaineers) to complete stewardship projects. Locations vary throughout the I-90 corridor.

Lake Sammamish State park is located just North of Issaquah, Washington

 

Volunteer work will include potting a variety of barefoot plants and trees.

After registering on the Mountaineers' website for this activity, please also complete the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust Volunteer Waiver prior to attending this activity.

Required Equipment

For safety, volunteers are required to wear:

  • Long pants (we’ll be working with tools, so no shorts!)
  • Sturdy, close-toed shoes (absolutely no sandals)
  • Gloves

In addition, we recommend that participants bring:

  • Warm layers, especially during the fall, winter, and spring
  • Rain gear
  • Big sack lunch
  • Water for the day (3 liters minimum)
  • Small daypack for lunch, extra layers, etc.
