It's forecast to be dry and warm this Friday and Saturday. Gentle breezes and scattered clouds are promised by the weather forecasters. With the recent rain the air will be clear from Adams to the American Border Peaks. What a great day for a hike to a stunning view- - and to help out the lookout. We need people to help the lookout while the weather is clear and warm. Jim, John, Norm, Andrew and I scraped a lot of loose paint off the lookout, so the preparation is done. Please come help us out by helping carry in primer or paint. recovering our repair supplies that were tossed off the north face from the lookout stopping by and helping paint for a while (bring painting clothes and eye protection) Repairing nature's damage and increased human damage this year has diluted our efforts to get other maintenance work done. The snow this year was especially hard on the lookout. We had to replace broken shutter supports and still need to do other structural repairs. BUT the most weather sensitive work is getting the lookout painted while the weather is good. With the late snow and cold Spring/Summer our opportunity to get the lookout painted is NOW.
