Stewardship - Mountaineers Seattle Program Center

Come help us at the Seattle Program Center make our green spaces look good! We have some native beds that need your help. For a few hours work you will get a badge, meet new people, have some fun, and get some lunch. Rosemary Baker, a professional landscaper, will guide us for the first hour and set us on our way. We will work from 9am-noon.

There is no prior skill needed for what we will be doing. It is mostly weeding, pruning, and mulching. Don't worry if you have never done it before, we will coach you through it.

Required Equipment

Please wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty and is appropriate for the weather. A hat and long sleeves (or sunscreen) may be needed for a sunny day.

If you have your own hand tools for weeding and pruning, please bring them. We do have some supplies, so if you don't have anything we probably have you covered. Mostly we use a trowel or hori hori knife for weeding, had pruners, loppers, and a hand saw.

Bring a water bottle as well. Stay hydrated!
