9am at Heybrook Ridge TH (mile marker ~37)
Now is your chance to give back to the Mountaineers! This outing will clear summer growth and prepare the Heybrook Ridge stump areas for the Basic Navigation field trips in the fall and spring. The Navigation committee has a selection of large loppers and machetes, but feel free to bring your own brush and landscaping tools from home.

If you're a Basic Alpine Climbing student then this activity qualifies as credit for your Stewardship/Volunteer graduation requirement.

This is typically dirty and wet work so we recommend bringing older outerwear which you don't mind getting scratched up a bit. Also make sure to bring...rain pants, heavy leather gloves, gaitors, compass, 10 essentials, lunch, NW Forest Pass for each car, etc. Also it's possible that some of the stump signs will be missing, so bring your Navigation Field Trip handouts if you have them because it might be useful to have the stump field maps, bearings, drawings, and range tables.

The plan is to meet at the trailhead and be ready to go at 9am, cookies and coffee will be waiting for you when you arrive. Let's carpool to reduce our footprint at the parking area, so please set your carpool preferences when you sign up.

Looking forward to seeing you Saturday morning!
