This Restoration Work Party takes place from 10 AM to 1 PM at SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve (21656 184th Ave SE, Renton WA 98058). We will meet in the main parking lot of SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve. Parking is limited and carpooling encouraged. Extra parking is along 184th Ave. Staff will lead a tour of the peat bog at 10 am for those who are interested. Please arrive by 9:45 to do sign-in paperwork before we get started.
No previous experience or tools are required, but attendees should come prepared for moderate physical activity and removal of invasive species such as blackberries. We aim to provide a range of tasks. Make sure to arrive with weather-proof clothing for working outside, a water bottle, and a smile. Please be aware that you may encounter muddy areas and plants with thorns.
As a half-day activity, participants who complete this activity are not eligible to receive the Stewardship Credit badge. If you have completed multiple half-day stewardship activities within the past year and you need this badge for course credit, please email info@mountaineers.org with the dates of your participation and our Member Services team will award you the badge.
