Come plant trees with the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust in Issaquah! This year’s Tree Planting Celebration gives volunteers a unique opportunity to learn about in-stream restoration for salmon recovery and see the City of Issaquah’s recently completed Large Woody Material project. As you help plant the final trees of this project, you’ll also gain insight into what’s coming next summer downstream at Lake Sammamish State Park, where the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust will launch its largest restoration project to date, focused on in-stream restoration.
We are aiming to plant roughly 800 trees at the event this year, and volunteers will also be caging conifers and spreading mulch to help these baby trees thrive! The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon and we will have Costco pizza with salads/sandwiches for volunteers.
You must sign the Mountains to Sound Greenway Waiver at the following link to participate:2024 Annual Tree Planting Celebration! - Mountains To Sound Greenway Trust (mtsgreenway.org)
Open to all ages. Participants under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
As a half-day activity, participants who complete this activity are not eligible to receive the Stewardship Credit badge. If you have completed multiple half-day stewardship activities within the past year and you need this badge for course credit, please email info@mountaineers.org with the dates of your participation and our Member Services team will award you the badge.
