Hi everyone! We can't wait for you to join us at Anderson Island to pull invasive blackberry weeds!

Register HERE to reserve your spot and to receive directions to the worksite.

This event requires you to drive your own vehicle onto the Anderson Island Ferry out of Steilacoom, WA (unless, of course, you happen to live close to or on Anderson Island). The ferry costs a little under $20 round trip for the driver and an average size vehicle, and you are required to stay in your vehicle while on the ferry due to current COVID restrictions. You can see more details about ferry costs at this link.

To spend the morning with us, you will need to take the 8:20 ferry to Anderson Island. We will finish up in time for you to catch the 12:45 return ferry. Learn more about the ferry times here.

Once on the island, you will head to the worksite, following the directions sent to you via e-mail with your registration confirmation. It is only about a 10 minute drive from the ferry terminal.

Due to the most recent "Stay Safe-Stay Healthy" proclamation, we are limiting our events to 12 volunteers (plus 3 staff members) on site at any given time. We will work in small groups of no more than 5 (4 volunteers plus a staff member for each group) . Please register (one registration for each person attending).

We have adopted the following COVID-19 safety guidelines as well to keep NLT staff and volunteers safe. If you feel you cannot comply with these guidelines, please do not register to attend this event.

  • If you have experienced COVID-19 symptoms (cough, fever, shortness of breath, etc.) or have been in contact with something who has within the last two weeks, or are feeling ill in any way, please stay home.
  • Volunteers and staff will maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet at all times.
  • Volunteers and staff will wear a mask whenever we are gathered as a group. Once we are spread out and working you may choose to remove your mask, but you must put it back on any time you are interacting with another volunteer or staff member.
  • Volunteers will supply their own gloves and masks whenever possible.
  • Volunteers must not bring food to share with the group, even if it is an individually-wrapped snack.
  • Tools will be sanitized before each work party; volunteers and staff will continue to use the same tool throughout the work party and will not trade with others to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Do not carpool to this event, except with people from your household.

If you have questions, please feel free to e-mail Susannah at volunteer@nisquallylandtrust.org.

Thanks, and we hope to see you soon!

All are welcome. No technical skills or experience required.
