Stewardship - Cheasty Greenspace

Come participate in the community stewardship effort to restore and maintain a safe and welcoming urban forest! This activity is run by Friends of Cheasty Greenspace Mt. View as part of The Mountaineers Stewardship Partner Program. As such, you may have to sign waivers or other acknowledgements of the host organization.

Come participate in the community stewardship effort to restore and maintain a safe and welcoming urban forest!  Work consists of invasive plant removal, native tree/shrub planting, and pedestrian trail maintenance.  Complimentary Tin Umbrella Coffee, gloves, and tools provided.  

Meet at View Point Park in New Rainier Vista, at the corner of 28th Ave S, S Nevada St and S Adams St at 9am.   Work party runs til noon.  This location is approximately five blocks away from the Columbia City Light Rail LINK Light Rail Station; maximize your restoration work by taking the train to the work party!  

You will be helping restore the trail corridor for Seattle’s first forested mountain biking trails. Ripping out blackberry = satisfying. Learning about native habitat = enlightening. Working together = rewarding. Having fun = Having fun.

Clothing that can get dirty (because it will!) • Long pants and a long sleeve shirt (helps protect against prickly plants) • Sturdy shoes that can handle some mud (closed toed shoes are required: work boots, hiking boots, or running shoes are all fine) • Full water bottle.
