Sea Kayak - Tacoma Narrows

Come join me for my second mentored paddle doing the classic Tacoma Narrows round trip from Titlow Park to Owens Beach. The paddle out should be mild with the return run having up to 4 knots of current. This is one of the paddles needed for Tacoma Branch's "Central Sound Badge".

A mild current will aid us as we travel north from Titlow Park to Owens Beach, where we will have an early lunch. After lunch, we will ride increasing currents on our return trip back to Titlow Park. Even if this is a hot day, drysuits are required.

We will meet at Titlow Park (8425 6th Avenue, Tacoma, WA 98465) in the parking area across from the Beach Tavern (8612 6th Ave, Tacoma, WA 98465). There will be a group meeting at 7:45AM and we will be launching after the meeting (as close to 8:00AM as possible). Please arrive early enough (no later than 7AM) so that you are ready to paddle by the start of the meeting. There is a bathroom at the park (just north of where we park) and a bathroom at Owens Beach Park.
