We’ll launch promptly at 8:30am and head over to Strawberry Island for some play time in the building flood current before heading east to paddle around the area of Skagit and Hope Islands. We’ll return to Cornet Bay on the ebb. I expect we’ll be done by around 3pm. As noted in the summary, this is a spur of the moment paddle to take advantage of what looks like a fair weather window before winds pick up later this weekend. That said, there is always a possibility of stronger winds in the afternoon and the paddle back around Hoypus Point might be a bit challenging if that happens.
Meet at 7:30am at the kayak launching area south of the boat ramps at Cornet Bay. Be sure to bring your Discovery Pass, or you can pay at the kiosk if its working. We’ll launch one hour later so if you need more time to prepare your kit please plan on arriving earlier than the meeting time.
